Also Known As (aka) “I hear Voices” An Inner Journey Course on the Supreme Court We all hear voices in our heads to some extent or another. They nag at us, remind us what is right or dangerous, they promote caution and often fear. They form a part of our thinking mind that never seems to let up. And they affect us, often in unconscious ways. To some extent, they can be useful in helping us make sound, reasonable choices in our day-to-day lives. But, all too often they move us into behaviors and attitudes that do not serve us very well. These behaviors can hurt, scare, and demoralize ourselves and others. They stifle creativity, deny our rights, and weaken our ability to act. They can be repetitive actions that we know we don’t want for ourselves, yet keep turning up. So who are these Inner Guys anyway?! Where do they come from? What gets them so riled up? They throw the book at us and somehow we feel like we’re in Jail, a prisoner of who knows what. Whose ‘book’ is it anyway, and what makes it so heavy? AND, who’s in jail: who’s running the show!!?? How do I bust outta’ here????? This course will examine and explore answers to these questions through a program that will include information presentations, meditation, controlled exercises, practice, and discussions based upon experiences. The main themes will be: The Judges: aka the ‘voices on the bench’ What are these voices saying to us that get us into unwanted behavior patterns and often into trouble? Why do they have such an effect on us? The Book of Law: aka the ‘crime’ What is the collection of beliefs and conclusions we hold about ourselves that these voices use against us? It’s as if we’re about to commit a crime or may have already done it! Heck, what’s the crime?! The Accused: aka the ‘prisoner’ What part of ourselves gets disowned in the process, seemingly forever stuffed away in our very own unique ‘gunny sack’? How does this part react? The System: aka the ‘conviction, sentence and jailhouse’ How does this process work so fast anyway so that before we can even see it we’re in the dog house.? A Good Defense: aka a good “offense” How can we possibly free ourselves from all of this so that we can make the choices we need in order to nurture and be true to ourselves. This course includes 2 weekends 9:15 am to 5:30 pmand 2 weeknights in between, 6:45 pm to 9:30 . The fee is $265.00 payable to Inner Journey Canada.
